Roseville Solar and Roof

This property with a roof area of 256 square meters, is the third we have done recently in Roseville, located in Sydney’s northern suburbs within the Ku-ring-gai Council controlled areas. There’s lots of greenery and birdlife due the location, being a short drive to some of the best national parks in metro Sydney. It’s a peaceful and very liveable area, for everybody, including nature!

As a result of this, homes in this area are subject to all sorts of natural growths and contaminants on their roofs.

Heavy amounts of naturally occurring lichen are a common sight as well as general dirt from the environment.

Once you have lichen, as described in other Recent Work posts, you also have the problem that it multiplies the time required to clean surfaces by a substantial amount.

Lichen* almost always causes a permanent slightly opaque effect to areas of solar panels from where it has been removed. The reason for this is that it has eaten into the panel coating.

On this occasion, Extra Hand Solar Clean, with our onboard pure water system, specialist tools and equipment, saved these panels from further damage restoring them to a good to very good condition. There will be an uptick in solar power generation as a result, even with some residual solar panel damage as described.
